This turn of the century residence is located on a quaint block in San Francisco’s Eureka Valley. The design transformed the dark and dilapidated house into a warm and airy home. Walls were removed and spaces reconfigured to create an open floor plan and connection to the panoramic view. Skylights, transom windows, and glass floors were added to capture natural and borrowed light and further open up the house. Clean lines and a simple material palette – Douglas fir, V-groove paneling, stainless steel, Carrara marble, and glass – compliment the original structure’s charm and modernize it for today.
